From festival tent to unique product

EUROSTRETCH X UNBEGUN

At UNBEGUN, they give the strongest residual materials a second life. This is how they upcycle market, transport and tarpaulins and now stretch tents into unique products. We as EUROSTRETCH have partnered with UNBEGUN to process our residual waste and used cloths into laptop sleeves, tablet cases and shoulder bags.

Each product has its own identity and this makes it unique!

Each product has its own identity and this makes it unique!

In a world full of discards, there is more than enough material to upcycle. Strong, sturdy material that has defied wind and weather. And in also stretch tents that have protected Festival-goers from Mother Nature’s elements.

Our African fabric is easy to clean, waterproof and has a handsome matt finish. This ensures that the material has a lot of potential. Instead of the incinerator, it is now being made into high-quality sleeves, cases and bags.

The production of our stretch tents includes an average of 7% cutting loss. With this year’s forecast, this will come out to approximately 5580m2 which would normally be incinerated at the waste processor. 60% of our cutting loss is actually reusable by UNBEGUN. As a result, more than half of our residual material sees the light of day again!

The greatest environmental impact on the climate is in the production process of our high-quality cloths. This is mainly caused by the PES & PVC fabric (49%) and the additives that are added against discolouration in UV light and making the fabric mildew resistant.

This process happens externally at the manufacturer and we have no control over this as EUROSTRETCH. What we do control is our own production process and the waste phase of our cutting losses. EUROSTRETCH’s total CO2 impact on the environment is 19,377kg CO2. This mainly comes from heating our production hall.

9,750kg CO2 is equivalent to:

  • 48,000 km of driving an average petrol car (Our assembly van per year)
  • 5417 m3 gas consumption (3.5 years the gas consumption of a standard household in the Netherlands)
  • 20 return flights by plane to Munich
  • The production of 4.5 thousand steaks
We are extremely proud of our cooperation with UNBEGUN. The leftover material is turned into a whole new product. So from now on, you can protect your laptop or ipad with our high-quality fabric. Our fanny packs are also ideal for any festival and complete your outfit!
